You are here... Help & Advice Your Blueface Account Toolbox Guide

Blueface Toolbox Guide

The toolbox is similar to having your own virtual mini phone system. It lets you manage your preferences for call forwarding, Voicemail and SIP. You can access it by logging in to your Blueface account and selecting Toolbox from the customer menu.

When the toolbox page loads you will be presented with the Forwards page by default. To the left you will see a side menu which gives you access to Voicemail and SIP preferences.

Blueface Toolbox

Forwards

This tool allows you to create call forwarding rules for all your phone numbers (excluding Blueface extension numbers). You can forward all your calls to your mobile or have calls divert to another number if your main telephone phone line is busy.

How Call Forwarding Works

All your phone numbers are displayed at the top of the Call Forwarding page. Any numbers that can have forwarding rules applied to them will have a selectable radio button beside them.

You can change the forwarding preferences for a number by selecting the radio button next to it (A). The text fields below will automatically populate (B).

The 1st normal forward will always be: SIP/your_username. This is the default setting for the number to ring normally.

How to Change Your Forwarding Preferences

Normal Forwards

Normal Forwards

Use Normal Forwards to receive your phone calls on more than one phone and redirect calls.

If you would like all your calls to forward to another phone number or SIP account enter the number or SIP details in the 1st Normal Forward.

If you would like incoming calls to ring your Blueface phone and another line at the same time: leave SIP/your_username in the 1st Normal Forward, then enter the alternative number or SIP account in the 2nd Normal Forward. Both will now ring simultaneously until a line is answered.

Example:

To forward all your calls to an Irish mobile number: Type your mobile number in the following format 00353861234567 (do not type any spaces) in the 1st Normal Forward.

To ring your Blueface phone first and your Irish mobile number at the same time: Leave SIP/your_username in the 1st Normal Forward and enter 00353861234567 in the 2nd Normal Forward.

You have the option to enter a 3rd forward in 3rd Redirect in the same format as above.

Remember to click Save to commit your changes. The status feedback will tell you if your update has been successful.

All unanswered calls will be redirected to your voicemail or disconnected depending on your voicemail preferences.

Forward a call when unavailable

Unavailable Forwards

This forwarding preference will ring if your Blueface phone does not register and becomes unavailable. This can happen if there is an interruption in your broadband service or if there is a power outage. You can divert calls to another SIP account or phone number.

Example:

If you would like your mobile phone to ring if your Blueface number becomes unavailable: Leave SIP/your_username in the 1st Normal Forward and enter 00353861234567 in the 1st Unavailable Forward.

You have the option to enter a 2nd forward in the same format as above.

Remember to click Save to commit your changes. The status feedback will tell you if your update has been successful.

All unanswered calls will be redirected to your voicemail or disconnected depending on your voicemail preferences.

Forward a call when Busy

Busy Forwards

Busy forwards will take effect if you are already on the phone and you have another incoming call. You can divert the call to another phone number or SIP account.

Example:

If you would like your colleague's number to ring if your Blueface number is busy: Leave SIP/your_username in the 1st Normal Forward and enter 0035317654321 in the 1st Busy Forward.

You have the option to enter a 2nd in the same format as above.

Remember to click Save to commit your changes. The status feedback will tell you if your update has been successful.

All unanswered calls will be redirected to your voicemail or disconnected depending on your voicemail preferences.

SIP Account Management

You can have your Blueface account registered at home, at the office, on a laptop or on a SIP enabled mobile but if you have more than one device registered with Blueface at the same time you must create a new SIP account for each one. This will ensure you have no audio issues and good call quality.

Under the SIP tab you will have a listing of all your SIP accounts with usernames, passwords, status (up or down indicated if your phone is registered or not), the last time your device registered and the SIP URI (Uniform Resource Identifier).
