  1. Unpack your Linksys WRT54P2 Router/ATA. We have pre-configured the device for you.
  2. Plug out the Internet/ WAN cable from your computer, and plug it into the Internet port on the WRT54P2. This is the port on the far left (labelled A in Fig.1 above). The internet cable should run from the Internet port on the WRT54P2 to the Ethernet port of the modem.
  3. Plug the cable (provided) from the LAN/ Ethernet port from any of the 3 Ethernet ports on the WRT54P2 (labelled B in Fig.1 above) to the Ethernet port at the back of your computer. There is usually only one port of the correct size on the back of a computer. Alternatively, you can connect the internet to your computer wirelessly, using the wireless capability of the WRT54. Do not connect the computer directly to the broadband modem; it has to be through the WRT54.
  4. Plug the WRT54P2 into a power socket, using the plug provided.
  5. Plug your telephone into Line 1 on the WRT54P2 (labelled C in Fig.1 above).
  6. When everything is connected (Fig. 2) switch off the WRT54P2 and broadband modem (unplug power). Leave them switched off for 30 seconds then switch them back on and leave them for 5 to 7 minutes. This makes sure the settings are re-booted.
  7. At this point you should see all the lights (LEDs) on the WRT54P2 glow green. To test your new phone system dial 303# (free talking clock) to check if you can hear the time.
  8. Do not reset the router. This will delete the settings required for the service to work.
