Xlite 4 Configuration

X-Lite setup guide

X-lite 4 is a FREE softphone, which allows you to make phone calls directly from your computer (Mac OS, Windows or Linux). It's compatible with Blueface. If you don't have it installed on your computer, you can download it there : Xlite download.

The installation process is quick and doesn't require any specific skills or knowledge. Simply follow the steps.

Once it is installed, follow our guide to get started. If you experience any issues, contact us at support@blueface.ie or post in our forum (you need to register 1st) : Blueface forum.

  1. Verify that you have an account with Blueface and that you know your account details. If you are not yet a customer, you can take a look at our free trial or directly at our services to sign up.
  2. Click "Soft Phone" at the top left corner, then "Account Settings":

  3. You are now into the interface handling your account. You need to enter your Blueface's details here:
    • Display name : Enter your name (ex: John Smith)
    • User name : Your Blueface SIP Username
    • Password : Your Blueface SIP Password
    • Authorization name : Leave blank
    • Domain : Enter sip.blueface.ie as shown below
Domain proxy : "Register with domain and receive incoming calls" should be ticked and select "Domain".
    • On Windows, you'll be prompted by Windows Firewall to grant Internet access for Xlite4. Select 'Unblock'.
  4. Your Xlite4 phone is now ready for use.
  5. Make sure that you do not have the same SIP account registered on two devices as it could cause sound quality problems. To add another SIP account use The ToolBox: you will be able to add a 2nd SIP account to use with the Xlite.
