CSIPSimple is a free application for Android devices. It's a SIP client allowing you to use Blueface services from your mobile device.
What we like about it :
Once it is installed, follow our guide to get started. If you experience any issues, contact us at support@blueface.ie or post in our forum (you need to register 1st) : Blueface forum.
Make sure that you do not have the same SIP account registered on two devices as it could cause sound quality problems. To add another SIP account use The ToolBox: you will be able to add a 2nd SIP account to use with CSIPSimple.
If you are not a Blueface customer, you can learn more about us on this website. We have a broad range of solutions for SMEs and residential customers. You can use our Free Trial if you want to give CSIPSimple a go.
To get started follow this quick setup guide:
When you first launch the application you should be prompted to Add an Account. If that's not the case, then press the 'Menu' key on your phone to display the options and you'll find 'Account' in there.
Select the Basic Wizard.
In there you'll need to enter your Blueface SIP credentials. The server is, as usual, sip.blueface.ie
See the two following screen shots.
If you are unsure about your credentials, log in our website, go to the ToolBox and then under the SIP tab, you'll see a list of your SIP accounts. Use a SIP account that you do not use with another device!
If all goes well you should see this :
You can start making calls!
If not :
In that you need to edit back the account as the credentials are wrong. Make sure the username and password are correct.
Using this application over Wifi is like using any Blueface phone : it doesn't have any hidden cost.
Over 3G, your provider will charge you for the Data, and may block SIP (or damage audio quality to the point where the app is not usable).
To call out, by default, when your phone is connected on Wifi you'll be prompted with the choice between Blueface and the usual mobile phone dialer.
To receive calls though you need to make a choice:
If you choose to receive calls, you'll use up a bit more battery as the phone will have to register on a regular basis with Blueface.
You can set that in the Settings menu, as per the screen shot.
Do not hesitate to let us know what you think about this or if you have feedback to provide. You can post on our forum for Android
