- The 1st step is to power up the phone. You need to plug the base of the phone electrically and then connect the network cable from the base to your Internet router.
- Plug the handset charger and start charging it. Make sure you leave it charging fully for the 1st time.
- Once the base station and handset are powered up determine the IP address of the base station using the menu on the handset. To do this select Menu > Settings > Base > Local network, enter the System PIN of 0000, IP Configuration > IP Address and the IP address of the base station will be displayed. If your network does not use a DHCP server to assign IP addresses automatically you will need to manually set the IP address of the Base Station at this point.
From there you have two options: setup the phone from the handset or setup^the phone from your computer's web browser. For less technical people we advise to go with the 1st option.
To setup your phone from the handset, simply follow those steps:
- Press Menu
- Then, browse to : Settings > Base > Telephony > Connection Assistant
- Enter the system Pin which by default is 0000
- You will now see some questions that will help you getting started quicker
- Do you have code for Auto Configuration? – No
- Select Voip Provider? – Yes
- Select Country – Ireland
- Select Voip Provider – Blueface
- Authentication Name – username (case sensitive)
- Authentication Password – password (case sensitive)
Setup your phone from your computer's web browser:
- Once the base station and handset are powered up determine the IP address of the base station using the menu on the handset. To do this select Menu > Settings > Base > Local network, enter the System PIN of 0000, IP Configuration > IP Address and the IP address of the base station will be displayed. If your network does not use a DHCP server to assign IP addresses automatically you will need to manually set the IP address of the Base Station at this point.
- Once you have determined the IP address of the base station go to your PC and type the address into your browser's address bar in order to access the configuration menu for the Gigaset.
- On the initial login page again enter the System PIN of 0000 and then click Ok. On the main menu screen click the Settings tab and then the Telephony menu option on the left hand side and then Configuration. Click the Edit button on the right hand side for the 1st line, which should bring you to the settings screen as shown below.
- Fill out the details in your browser as shown in the screenshot below using your Blueface username and password where indicated, once completed click the Set button, wait 10 to 20 seconds and your phone should then be connected. No setting changes are required on any of the other pages.
